Why work with a Garden Designer?
Transforming your garden should be regarded as an investment, just like adding an extension or making any other home improvement. In addition to the widely publicised benefits to lifestyle, mental health and physical wellbeing, a well designed garden can add value to your home, in some cases an increase of 20%. Whatever your motivation, a garden designer can help you fulfil your garden’s full potential, as well as provide a fresh perspective, recognising opportunities that you might not have considered.
And specifically, me.
Transitioning from professional architectural practice eight years ago, I brings a wealth of design expertise to the table; including an innovative style, an intuitive approach to spatial relationships and a keen eye for detail.
Combining bold geometric forms and clean lines with a passion for plants and materials, I create dynamic and different garden environments, where people are the core focus and planting plays an integral role. I aim to create strong physical and visual connections between house and garden so that inside and outside flow together, encouraging use and enjoyment all year round. Close collaboration with clients is at the heart of my design ethos; and I aim to not only realise client expectations, but exceed them.
Away from the Drawing Board
I spend most of my time corralling my miniature wire-haired dachshund, Gordon - he features a lot on my Instagram and is a total canine treat! When I have a spare minute, I enjoy cooking, drawing, lino printing and reading plus threaten to take up pottery and curling on an annual basis! In the great outdoors, creating my own garden has been the dream I never knew I had. Since leaving architecture, plants have become a major passion and I wholeheartedly believe in the benefits and restorative effects of green spaces, regardless of scale, in the hustle and bustle of our post-pandemic lives.
