Originally a dark and cluttered garden, this small space has been reworked to make the most of the sun path throughout the day. It includes a generous terrace adjacent to the house with stepped raised beds and boundary trellising, providing planting space a-plenty as well as screening from neighbouring properties. A quarter turn stair steps down to a secondary, dinkier patio at the bottom of the garden, again surrounded by planting. The restrained material palette of porcelain, hand made brick and cor-ten steel offer a range of contrasting textures and warm tones, perfect for offsetting the client’s own planting scheme.
