A north facing rear garden, attached to a B listed building, but reimagined with a bold, contemporary aesthetic. An angular retaining wall and quarter turn floating steps, both cast in situ, introduce a dynamism to the split level garden, creating a generous lounge space adjacent to the basement cinema room and a dining patio above nestled amongst ample shade tolerant planting. A bespoke stair, fabricated from black steel and perforated sheet, projects into the garden from ground floor level and dog legs down onto the patio, creating a route through the garden and encouraging use. Concrete and steel inject an industrial feel, whilst contrasting with rustic sandstone paving and cobbles, reflecting the architectural stonework of the rear facade.
